The 23 men to represent Guatemala’s national men’s team, Los Jaguares, next Saturday have been selected. The Central Americans will travel south to Ecuador to play in a Rugby World Cup qualifier.
As the winners of the 2015 South American C Championship Guatemala are now one match away from the South American B Championship. Standing in their way is the bottom placed side from the South American B Championship, Los Piqueros.
As the current South American B Championship competitor Ecuador has home advantage. The country’s largest city, Guayaquil will host the fixture on Saturday August 27.
The losing team will be eliminated from Rugby World Cup 2019 qualification. The winner will remain alive, joining Colombia, Peru and Venezuela in Lima in October.
