Brazil finish Olympics in 12th spot

Brazil closed out their participation in the Olympic 7s with a 24-0 defeat to Kenya, finishing in 12th place overall. Three tries from Billy Odhiambo led the way for the Kenyans, who achieved their first Olympic win at the last time of asking. While the score will be a disappointment for Brazil, they can attribute the loss to Kenya at last approaching the form that won them the Singapore tournament with Brazil simply out-muscled by a much bigger side.

With the loss Brazil finish winless, losing all five matches and scoring only four tries. Two of those, however, came against tournament favorites Fiji and two more against the USA gave the local fans something to cheer about. It should also be noted that Kenya were the lowest-ranked side that Brazil faced, with the Kenyans ranked 7th in the world before the Olympics, while Brazil entered in 17th spot.
