11 Capped Players in Canada ‘A’ Roster for UK Tour

Canadian men’s Head Coach Mark Anscombe has confirmed a 26-man roster to tour the UK next month. Presently a two-match tour, confirmed matches thus far are against Doncaster Knights and Ulster Ravens.

Anscombe told Rugby Canada “We’re looking to develop our player depth on this tour. We want to see if the players that played well during the Canadian Rugby Championships can step up and play at a higher level.”

Selected in the squad are the following 11 capped players: Kyle Baillie, Nanyak Dala, Matt Heaton, Phil Mackenzie, Gordon McRorie, Dan Moor, Pat Parfrey, Benoît Pifféro, Mozac Samson, Brock Staller and Jordan Wilson-Ross.

Four players are included from outside the Canadian Rugby Championship – Baillie and Mackenzie arrive from PRO Rugby in the USA, Pifféro from Fédérale 1 in France, and Dan Joyce from Trinity College in Dublin.

Of the four CRC sides represented the Prairie Wolf Pack lead the way with eight selections, followed by the BC Bears with six, Atlantic Rock and champions Ontario Blues with four each.
