Waldouck set to join Newcastle Falcons

Dominic Waldouck is headed back to the Aviva Premiership. The former London Irish centre has signed a trial contract with the Newcastle Falcons, to begin at the completion of his commitments with the Ohio Aviators of PRO Rugby. Waldouck has made a big impression since arriving on American soil. He notched a hat-trick on debut and has played a big role in helping Ohio reach the top of the PRO table.

Having seemingly shaken the injury bug which has limited his professional career, the 28-year-old could prove an astute signing for the Falcons as they look to bolster a side that narrowly avoided relegation last season. Waldouck has represented England Saxons in the past and toured with the senior English side in 2008 but has yet to win a full international cap.

Newcastle have already reached into the PRO ranks earlier this season, signing San Francisco Rush forward David Tameilau to his first overseas contract. They have also added American lock Nick Civetta and Canadian international Evan Olmstead during the off-season. Argentine trio Belisario Agulla and the Socino brothers, Santiago and Juan Pablo, are already on the books.
