Pumas Tries See Pampas Past Peñarol in Heavy Rain

Tries to Pumas Joaquín Moro and Justo Piccardo helped Los Pampas to a 24-10 home win over Peñarol on Friday. The Buenos Aires side defeated the Montevideo team by three tries to two. The teams traded early tries before Moro and Piccardo crossed to put Los Pampas into a comfortable position. The rain then turned heavy.

• Los Pampas capitalized on early pressure with Ramiro Gurovich scoring a lineout to maul try.
• Peñarol hit-back with Ignacio Facciolo scoring in the left corner.
• A lengthily period without points ended with Felipe Aliaga’s yellow card. Pumas Joaquín Moro and Justo Piccardo both scored while Aliaga was off. Estanislao Renthel converted both and added a penalty following a second Peñarol yellow card.
