Montpellier fly half François Trinh-Duc is free to travel with France to Argentina this month, the French press has confirmed.
The 29-year old is a welcome addition to Guy Noves’ roster which will be announced on Monday June 06. With the tour taking place alongside the play-offs stage of the Top 14 players from the leading six clubs are to miss out. The consequence is Argentina will face a depleted French side.
With 53 test caps for France Trinh-Duc’s inclusion will greatly benefit the tourists. He was one of France’s fly halves playing under Noves in this year’s Six Nations Championship. The two others were Jules Plisson and Jean-Marc Doussain. Of the two the former will be free to tour due to his club having missed out on the play-offs.
Trinh Duc has been liberated to tour by his club with President Abdelatif Benazzi declaring “we don’t have any problem in freeing him. Everybody knows the position of coach Jake White about Trinh Duc -is unrelated – and as such if he is selected he will be avaliable”.
France are to play two tests in Argentina, doing so on Sunday June 19 and Saturday June 25. These dates are to coincide with the Top 14 Semi Finals and Final.
