Sears-Duru signs Glasgow Warriors extension

Djustice Sears-Duru has inked a one-year contract with Glasgow Warriors. The Canadian prop joined the Guinness Pro 12 semi-finalists in March on a short-term deal until the end of the season. That move has now been made permanent, until at least the end of the 2016/17 season.

The 22-year-old has yet to make his Pro 12 debut but has effectively been signed as a direct replacement at for departing Fijian loosehead Jerry Yanuyanutawa. In the meantime Sears-Duru will be looking to add to his 16 test caps with Canada during their three-test June series against Japan, Russia, and Italy.

Glasgow has previously been the home of Taylor Paris, Connor Braid, and most notably DTH van der Merwe, and currently has US Eagles lock Greg Peterson on their roster. Coached by former Scotland and British & Irish Lions star Gregor Townsend, the club currently boasts more than 20 internationals on their roster including Lions tourists Ryan Grant and Stuart Hogg, Italian flanker Simone Favaro, and Scotland lock Jonny Gray.
