Argentina Development were crowned champions this weekend at Newbery Athletic in Mar del Plata. Playing under the development name, rather than Los Pumas 7’s, Argentina defeated Mar del Plata 14-5 in the tournament final.
Argentina Development opened with a 26-14 win over Tucumán but fell 12-15 ante Mar del Plata. Ignacio Migliore, Alejo Sugasti, Facundo Pueyrredón and Ignacio Meabe were try scorers against Tucumán. Mar del Plata’s win ame after going 15-0 ahead.
On Day Two, the Argentine national side rebounded with a 50-0 win over Paraguay. From there Argentina Development defeated Newbery Athletic 19-14 in the Semi Finals and won the tournament with a 14-5 win over Mar del Plata.
