Canadian winger Jeff Hassler has extended his contract with Guinness Pro 12 club Ospreys. The Okotoks, Alberta, native signed a three-year deal with the Swansea-based club in 2014, a year after joining them alongside Canuck captain Tyler Ardron. His stay has now been extended by one season, keeping him at the Liberty Stadium until at least the end of the 2017/18 season.
Hassler starred for Canada in the World Cup but will play no part in the June international series against Japan, Russia, and Italy. The 24-year-old had surgery on a long-standing shoulder injury a month ago and will use the summer to rehabilitate and improve his conditioning ahead of the 2016/17 season. He has made a big impression with the Ospreys in his three seasons, scoring 16 tries in 46 appearances and being named to the Pro 12 Dream Team at the end of his first season in 2014.
