Delguy and Urdapilleta the Match-Winners for Clermont against Toulon

Bautista Delguy and Benjamín Urdapilleta were in the thick of the action for Clermont against Toulon on Sunday. The two Argentines scored all of Clermont’s points in what was a 19-18 home victory. Delguy scored the only try of the match, doing so from an assist from Urdapilleta who kicked 14 points.

LOS PUMAS IN NOVEMBER

Bautista Delguy is well-placed for international duty in the November Internationals. Argentina’s end-of-year tour will see matches against Italy in Udine, Ireland in Dublin and France in Paris. A training camp will be held from October 28-30 in preparation for the matches.

Argentina will be without star winger Emiliano Boffelli in November. He missed the July Internationals and the Rugby Championship. Felipe Contepomi continuously started Mateo Carreras throughout the international campaign.

The other wing spot saw different players starting. Delguy started against France and had one start against both Australia and South Africa. Others to play wing thus far for Los Pumas in 2024 are: Ignacio Mendy, Matías Moroni, Santiago Cordero and Rodrigo Isgró.

Additional wingers on the radar can be identified for November. Santiago Pernas was called-up by Felipe Contepomi ahead of the home match against the Springboks. Mateo Soler trained with the roster this year. Bristol Bears rookie Benjamín Elizalde was outstanding in the World Rugby u20 Championship earlier this year. Pernas, Soler and Elizalde are uncapped.
