Test Match Rugby – Puerto Rico take-on British Virgin Islands

Upcoming test match rugby sees Puerto Rico taking-on the British Virgin Islands (BVI) in a Caribbean battle. Puerto Rico all play host to the match on Saturday, September 28 at the Polideportivo Rebekah Colberg in the capital city of San Juan. The same venue played  host to Puerto Rico vs Burlington Rugby Football Club in April.

The test match is significant for both Puerto Rico and BVI. Neither competitor is involved in the 2024 Senior Men’s Rugby Americas North (RAN) XVs tournament. Increased international competition is welcomed. The BVI played the likes of the Dominican Republic and Turks & Caicos Islands in recent World Cup cycles.

Puerto Rico is a Caribbean island and unincorporated U.S. territory while the BVI is a British overseas territory. The BVI is an associate member of World Rugby and a full member of Rugby Americas North (RAN Rugby). Puerto Rico is not a full member nor an associate member of either.
