Colombia now has a player in the French Top14

The global rugby community warmed-up with excitement to the news earlier this year that a rugby player from Colombia was on his way to France to join Fédérale 3 club Givors. That player was 19 year old second-rower Andrés Zafra.

His time at the club in the Lyon region has proven to be so successful that he will be remaining in France and jhas, in fact, signed to a Top 14 club. Having won the 2015-2016 Pro d2 competition Lyon are returning to the Top 14 next season and have no intention of being relegated.

The young Colombian is one of a number of new arrivals in the ongoing recruitment. His deal with the French second division champions is for two years seeing him become a Top 14 player as of August 2016.
