Australia Roster Named for 2024 Rugby Championship

Wallabies Head Coach Joe Schmidt has named a 36-man roster for the 2024 Rugby Championship. Australia’s campaign will begin at home with two test matches against world champions South Africa. The Wallabies face the Springboks in Brisbane on August 10 and in Perth on August 17.

The matches follow Australia’s three home fixtures in July. The Wallabies defeated Wales in two test matches and Georgia in one. The new roster sees the return of World Cup roster Wallabies Marika Koroibete, Angus Bell and Max Jorgensen. Koroibete is coming out of international retirement.

Uncapped Corey Toole has been selected following his involvement for Australia in the Paris Olympics. Additional uncapped players include back-rowers Seru Uru, Luke Reimer and Carlo Tizzano, fullback Max Jorgensen and center Hamish Stewart. Charlie Cale drops out of the roster as does winger Darby Lancaster.

The roster also comes with injuries. The players missing for injury are Kurtley Beale, Langi Gleeson, Harry Johnson-Holmes, Bayley Kuenzle, Rob Leota, Lachlan Lonergan, Fraser McReight, David Porecki, Blake Schoupp, and Liam Wright.
