Peru and Argentina in Historic Agreement

An historic agreement has been reached between the governing rugby bodies of Peru and Argentina. Last Saturday at the Estadio de Velez Sarsfield in Buenos Aires members of the respective unions agreed to terms for a partnership ahead of kick-off between Los Jaguares and the Sharks.

The agreement will see Argentina using its knowledge and resources to help assist in rugby’s expansion in Peru. Through the use of technical assistance Peru will receive guidance in all areas of rugby, both on and off the field.

Among those involved in the agreement were high profile UAR staff including Daniel Hourcade, Martín Mackey and Eliseo Pérez.

Confirmed has been Tucumán’s Rafael Torres as Sporting Director of Peruvian rugby. He was approved by both Argentine and Peruvian rugby authorities to implement the strategic plans of the union in a productive manner to both unions.
