Seawolves and Free Jacks book preseason run-outs

Most players have now begun to check in for training camps and now there are two preseason fixtures to look forward to in the coming weeks. The Seattle Seawolves and New England Free Jacks have booked their first run-outs of the 2024 campaign.

Seattle will host the Pacific Pride at Starfire Stadium on Friday, February 16th for a 7pm kickoff. The Pride are Rugby Canada’s centralized development team that plays out of Langford and competes in the BC Premier League and Coastal Cup competitions. Their current Head Coach is former Seawolves player-coach Phil Mack. This will be the first meeting between the two sides.

The Free Jacks were due to take on the SaberCats a week later, on Friday, February 23rd. While New England will still travel to Houston on that day, their opponent at SaberCats Stadium will instead be the Dallas Jackals. The change was made when Houston were initially to be New England’s opponent in Round 1. A revised schedule now sees both Texas teams shifted to later in the season.
