Argentina Claim Podium Finish at Singapore 7’s

Argentina claimed a podium finish at the Singapore 7’s. Los Pumas 7’s recovered from a Semi Final defeat against Fiji to win the Bronze Final.

Los Pumas 7’s fell 33-24 against Fiji at the Semi Final stage. The Flying Fijians outscored Argentina by five tries to four. Argentina scored first through Marcos Moneta while additional tries were scored by Luciano González, Tomás Elizalde and Matteo Graziano.

 

Argentina recovered from the disappointment against Fiji to defeat Spain in the Bronze Final. Los Pumas 7’s scored five tries while Spain scored two. The Argentine tries were scored by Marcos Moneta, Tobias Wade, Matteo Graziano, Luciano González and Agustín Fraga.

 

Fiji went on to win the tournament in Singapore. The Flying Fijians defeated Kenya 21-12 in the final. The title means Fiji finish the World SVNS Series in second position behind Argentina. Los Pumas 7’s secured the season title on Saturday.

Despite reaching the final opt the Singapore 7’s, Kenya finished the SVNS Series in 9th spot. Uruguay finished in 10th spot, Ireland 11th and the USA bottom in 12th. Attention now turns to the Los Angeles 7’s. The two day tournament will be played on May 03-04.
