Uruguay Rugby Fixtures July 2025

Uruguay will play two test matches in July 2025. The matches will be against rivals from Europe and South America with Los Teros facing Romania at home and Argentina away. The two matches will be on July 12 and 19 and are to be followed by Uruguay’s Rugby World Cup 2027 Qualifiers against Paraguay.

Uruguay’s July clash against Romania will continue the growing rivalry between Los Teros and the Stejarii. The teams met in November with Uruguay winning in Bucharest. July 2022 saw the teams splitting a two match series in Montevideo.

Romania’s South American tour comes after the Eastern Europeans secured their place at Rugby World Cup 2027. Romania qualified for Australia 2027 by defeating Belgium 31-14 and Germany 48-10. As mentioned, Uruguay will begin their campaign against Paraguay.

Uruguay’s second July International will be away to Argentina. It is to be the second time in as many years that the teams from either side of the Rio de la Plata face-off. Uruguay hosted Argentina in 2024 with Los Pumas winning by a record margin. It will be Argentina’s fourth match of the year following facing the British & Irish Lions in Ireland in June and hosting England in La Plata and San Juan in July.

Uruguay’s final match of the July Internationals will see Los Teros debuting in the Rugby World Cup 2027 Qualifiers. Uruguay will travel to Asunción to face Paraguay on Saturday, July 26. The reverse fixture will take place in August.
