Lucio Sordoni is transferring clubs in France with immediate effect. The Argentine tight head is joining Montauban from Racing 92. This sees the 26-year-old Puma trading the Top 14 for the Pro D2. The move is as a medical joker; El Rosarino arrives in place of Mirian Burduli.
Sordoni moves to Montauban in time to face Brive on March 28. The transfer is a second opportunity to play in the Pro D2. He had a trial with Mont de Marsan but injury prevented him from playing in the French second division.
Montauban are presently 5th in the Pro D2 and Brive are tied for 2nd. Both teams are fighting to earn promotion to the Top 14. Fellow former Top 14 club, Grenoble are the league leaders after 23 rounds. Grenoble sit comfortably in top spot on 79 points. Brive and Provence have 67 points, Béziers are 4th on 64 and Montauban 5th on 62 points.
During his professional career, Sordoni played two seasons in the United Rugby Championship (URC) for the Glasgow Warriors. Prior to playing in Scotland, Sordoni also played Super Rugby in Argentina for Los Jaguares and in Australia for the Melbourne Rebels.

Sordoni has seven caps for Argentina but is presently out of favor. He was not selected for the recent camp in London earlier this month. He made his debut against Ireland in Dublin in 2018 and earned his most recent cap against New Zealand in Auckland in 2024.
The Argentine tight head prop is 26-years-old. He comes from Argentina’s third largest city, Rosario and is a product of the Atlético de Rosario club. He played u20’s for Argentina before becoming a Jaguar and a Puma.
