Only One Point Separates Tarucas and Pampas on Full-time

The inaugural professional rugby battle between the teams from Tucumán and Buenos Aires was decided at the final whistle as only one point separated Los Tarucas and Los Pampas on full-time in Tucumán. The heat of Tucumán asked a lot of the players. The result at the Caldera del Parque means Los Pampas move from 5th to 3rd in the standings.

MATCH NOTES
  • Both teams scored two tries with one being from a winger and the other from forward power.
  • Federico Lavanini scored first at the start of the second quarter. He crossed from a pick-and-go following raids from an attacking lineout.
  • Tomás Vanni got around Puma Justo Piccardo and through the tackle of Francisco González Capdevila to score.
  • The scores were locked at 7-7 until late in the third quarter. Los Pampas reclaimed the lead with Santiago Pernas leaping over to plant the ball in the try zone inches before the corner flag.
  • The home side hit-back from a lineout to maul try with Facundo García Hamilton scoring.
  • Estanislao Renthel made up for not converting Pernas’ try by landing a penalty to give Los Pampas the lead.
  • Nicolás Roger missed a late opportunity for victory. His penalty kick was wide.
