Dogos and Pampas Ends All Level in Córdoba

For the first time in matches between Los Dogos and Los Pampas there was no winner. In what was a rematch of the Super Rugby Americas 2024 Final, the teams competed to a 20-20 draw in Córdoba on Saturday. The match lived up to the expectation as being El Clásico.

MATCH NOTES
  • Los Dogos outscored Los Pampas by three tries to two; however, debutant Estanislao Renthel kicked his goals while Julián Hernández missed two conversions.
  • Nicolás D’Amorim charged over for the opening score. His 8th minute try saw Los Pampas leading until the final minutes of the opening half.
  • Leonel Oviedo scored from a lineout to maul to put the hosts ahead with half-time approaching. He scored a second lineout to maul try in the 43rd minute. A third score came with Agustín Moyano scoring his third try in two games for Los Dogos this season.
  • Puma Justo Piccardo broke the line to set-up Ignacio Inchauspe on 65 minutes. The try brought the scores level and they remained as such until the final whistle.
  • The match was played in 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) heat.
  • 4,000 were in attendance at Córdoba Athletic.
  • Both teams took away two competition points. It means Los Dogos are tied for 4th position with Yacare while Los Pampas occupy 6th position.
