The USA Men’s Eagles have booked a meeting against powerhouses Scotland in November. The Saturday, November 01 fixtures will be the USA’s fixture test match away against Scotland since 2000. The teams last met in July 2024 with Scotland winning 42-7 in Washington, D.C.
The match will be one of four home games for Scotland as part of the 2025 November Internationals. Scotland will also face New Zealand, Argentina and Tonga. The USA presently does not have additional end-of-year fixtures confirmed.
There have previously been seven test matches between Scotland and the USA. The Europeans have six wins and the USA one. International competition between the teams began in 2000 with Scotland’s 53-06 home win in Edinburgh. The USA’s 2018 victory over Scotland marked the Eagles’ first win over a Tier 1 opponent since beating France 17-03 at the 1924 Paris Olympic Games.
The USA Men’s Eagles now have two matches confirmed against Tier 1 opponents in 2024. The first is a home match against England on July 20. England will tour Argentina and the USA as part of their summer internationals.
England are presently 6th in the World Rankings and Scotland are 7th. The USA occupy 16th spot. In addition to taking-on England in July, the USA will also face the Netherlands and Spain. They are ranked 18th and 24th in the World Rankings respectively. Spain recently qualified for Rugby World Cup 2027.
The November 01 date for Scotland vs USA coincides with “The Rematch.” Chicago’s Soldier Field will play host to Ireland vs New Zealand that day. Despite being in the USA for that fixture, neither Ireland nor New Zealand will play against the USA.
