The battle of Asuncíon went down to the wire on Saturday evening. Yacare and Selknam both scored two tries each in a match decided at the final whistle. Yacare started well before Selknam fought back. The match had parity between the two teams.

- Yacare had a dream start with scrum-half Juan Cruz Strada scoring in the try zone following a break from center Francisco Diez.
- The Paraguayan side led 14-3 after 11 minutes; the second try was a penalty try. Yacare’s remaining 15 points all came from Joaquín Lamas penalties.
- Two occasions saw Selknam punished for trying to run the ball out from deep inside their own half only to be penalized.
- Wingers Federico Kennedy and Nicolás Garfulilc scored tries for Selknam.
- Lamas’ five penalties were one more than Tomás Salas’ four; notwithstanding, two other Lamas penalties hit the posts.
- Selknam had an opportunity to score a 79th minute try but knocked-on meters from the Yacare try zone.
- Yacare got four competition points to occupy 3rd position behind Los Tarucas and Peñarol.
- Selknam claimed a losing bonus point to be above Os Cobras and, the yet to debut, Los Pampas.
