England to face Los Pumas in La Plata and San Juan in July

England will face Los Pumas in La Plata and San Juan in July. The two matches will be 50% of England’s mid-year internationals. England’s summer fixtures will feature an uncapped match against France and a tour of the Americas with two games against Argentina and one against the USA Eagles.

The England vs France match will be between the England XV and the France XV. This means that the fixture will neither be capped nor count towards World Rankings. It will be played at Twickenham Stadium in London on Saturday, June 21. It is two weeks before England take-on Los Pumas in La Plata.

The La Plata venue will be the Estadio UNO Jorge Luis Hirschi de Estudiantes de La Plata. It is the same stadium that played host to the first of two matches between Argentina and Australia in the 2024 Rugby Championship. The Wallabies were 20-19 winners with a last-gasp penalty in a match dominated by rain. Los Pumas will look to give the La Plata crowd a win over England on Saturday, July 05. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:40pm.

The second test match will played at the Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario. While La Plata will be a new destination for England Rugby, San Juan is familiar. Under Eddies Jones, England were 38-34 winners at the Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario. Kick-off for the match will also take-place at 4:40pm. Los Pumas’ most recent match at the venue was a 48-17 win over Australia in 2022.

England’s third July test match will be away to the USA. It will coincide with Argentina’s home match against Uruguay on Saturday, July 19. The venues for both fixtures remain unconfirmed.

The two-match series between Argentina and England will take international competition between the rugby powerhouses to 30 test matches. The teams last met at Rugby World Cup 2023. England won 27-10 in the pool stage and 26-23 in the Bronze Final. Their last meeting in England saw Los Pumas winning 30-29 while the last test match between the sides in Argentina was in 2017.
