Vannes lost the match 26-24 away against Montpellier. Ayarza was one of three South Americans who started for Vannes. Santiago Medrano played tight head prop and Francisco Gorrissen played flanker. Both are possibilities for Pumas recalls in November.

Canadian Tyler Duguid started for Montpellier in the second-row. The giant from Edmonton, Alberta remains uncapped. Now aged 23, Duguid has been playing in France since 2019. He played for Narbonne before joining Montpellier in 2020. He is a former Canada u18 and u20 representative.
