Venezuela Defeat Peru in Rugby World Cup 2027 Qualifier

Venezuela defeated Peru in a Rugby World Cup Qualifier on Wednesday. Played in Medellín, Colombia, Las Orquídeas were 27-15 winners over Los Tumis. Venezuela’s victory means that Las Orquídeas await the result of Colombia vs Costa Rica. Venezuela advance to the final to face the winner of that fixture.

Before the match Venezuela was ranked 78th in the world and Peru 80th. Costa Rica entered the competition ranked 93rd while Colombia is positioned as the firm favorites with a ranking of 42nd in the world. Paraguay, who is expected to face the champion of the tournament in Medellín, is ranked 41st. Brazil is 29th.
