Former Puma Enrique Pieretto moves from Waratahs to France

Pro D2 side Province Rugby have confirmed the signature of Enrique Pieretto. The former Puma tight head prop moves to France following his stint in Australia playing for the Waratahs. Pieretto joins the club as a medical joker for the injured Quentin Samaran, who is out for several months.

In moving to France, Pieretto will play professional rugby in a 5th country. He will join fellow Argentine players Federico Wegrzyn and Nicolas Toth at his new club. Wegrzyn is presently sidelined with injury.

Pieretto was a part of the 2019 Jaguares side which finished second. Medrano was the starting tight head in the Semi Final win over the New South Wales Waratahs’ neighbors, the Brumbies. Pieretto was a replacement in the 39-7 win. The move follows that of fellow Argentine tighthead Santiago Medrano from the Western Force to play for Vannes in the Top 14.

He has also played in England for the Exeter Chiefs and in Scotland for the Glasgow Warriors.

The Córdoba Athletic tight head was named on Mario Ledesma’s roster for Rugby World Cup 2019. He featured in the 47-17 win over the USA in Kumagaya, Japan. He arrives in Aix-en-Provence, France with 25 test caps to his name. He made his debut against Italy in Santa Fé in 2016.
