Italian club Colorno have signed two Chileans in a matter of days. Following the arrival of fly half Rodrigo Fernández, Colorno have now confirmed the signature of prop Vittorio Lastra. He joins from Rivals FMI-CZ Rugby Rovigo Delta with whom he played for this past season.
Rovigo was Lastra’s third professional team and first outside of Chile. Lastra joined Rovigo following Rugby World Cup 2023. It was a retune to Italy after he previously played for Valsugana Rugby Padova in 2018 and subsequently for Verona.
He was a leading player for Los Cóndores during the Rugby World Cup Qualifiers. Lastra started at tight head prop in the history-making win over the USA in Denver to qualify for France 2023. The successful qualification was built on Chile’s exposure to professional rugby in the form of Selknam in Super Rugby Americas.
Lastra is able to play at prop on both sides of the scrum. He has done so during his test career which began in 2017. Lastra was a replacement loose head prop on debut for Chile against Brazil. He earned his 23rd cap against England in Lille and his most recent cap in a home test match against Hong Kong in July.
Vittorio Lastra Masotti is a native of the Pacific city of Viña del Mar. He is a rugby product of Old Macks. He is 183 cm tall and weighs 118 kg.
