November tours to Europe in store for Canada and USA

Canada and the USA will both be traveling to Europe in November with a three-test tour for each in the works. The end-of-year series will close what has been a more complete calendar for both sides after a comparatively sparse 2023. Each side is guaranteed six tests in addition to the two played in July, with one further on offer pending results of the Pacific Nations Cup.

The USA recently revealed their ‘Moonshot‘ outline of plans in the buildup to the 2031 World Cup. Included in their list of 2024 ‘missions’ is their fixture list for November. A date with Portugal in Lisbon is up first on November 9, with a neutral-venue clash against Tonga in Lyon, France, one week later. The Eagles will return to La Vila to play Spain on November 23.

Canada have yet to confirm their dates but their opponents have already revealed their fixtures. The Maple Leafs will start their tour in Amsterdam against the Netherlands on November 9, before a rematch with Romania in Bucharest on November 16. A venue for their final test is to be determined but it’s understood to that a neutral site will host a test between Canada and Chile.

The Pacific Nations Cup will see Japan, Canada, and the USA competing in Pool B between August 25 and September 7 before the finals stage hosted by Japan between September 14 and 21. Pool A will consist of Tonga, Fiji, and Samoa. The third-ranked teams after the pool stage will play one ranking match, while the top two from each pool will play two rounds of knockouts.
