Uruguay Roster for Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Uruguay has finalized twelve players for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The Uruguayan roster sees no surprises; established regular players have been selected. The South American countries joins Argentina  at the the Olympics. Argentina won Bronze at the Tokyo Olympics while Paris will see Los Teros 7’s debuting.

Uruguay’s team will travel to France on Thursday. Matches will take place on July 24, 25 and 27. It follows recent impassive performances at tournaments in Munich, Germany and Madrid, Spain. Los Teros 7’s were crowned Challenger Champions in Munich and regained 7’score status in Madrid.

FRANCE DOUBLE – RUGBY WORLD CUP & OLYMPICS

Four of the players selected for the Olympic also competed at Rugby World Cup 2023. They are Baltazar Amaya, Felipe Arcos Pérez, Bautista Basso, and Ignacio Facciolo.

Amaya scored an Uruguayan record of three tries at Rugby World Cup 2023. He scored in Uruguay’s opening match which was against France in Lille and scored two tries against Namibia in Nice. Basso also scored against Namibia.

 

URUGUAY TEST MATCH

Uruguay play host to France on Wednesday. The fixture is the first of three home test matches as part of the July 2024 Internationals. Five of the twelve players on the Paris roster are also on the roster to face France this week.

Any, or all, of Baltazar Amaya, Felipe Arcos Pérez, Bautista Basso, Ignacio Facciolo, and Mateo Viñals may thus face France on Wednesday and fly to Paris the following day.

2024 OLYMPIC GAMES – URUGUAY TRAVELING REPLACEMENTS

Uruguay’s roster sees Koba Brazionis, Dante Soto and Ignacio Álvarez missing out. Teams are granted two traveling replacements. Uruguay will thus take traveling replacements from this trio.
