Two Pumas among Top 14 Leading Point Scorers for Season 2023-2024

The Top 14 regular season has concluded. The play-off’s begin this coming Saturday. They come with Oyonnax having been relegated, Vannes promoted from the Pro D2 and Montpellier preparing to face Grenoble in the access match.

The individual totals for the regular season reveal that two Pumas were placed among the best point scorers. Domingo Miotti scored 164 points for Oyonnax and Benjamín Urdapilleta scored 131 points for Clermont. This made them the 5th and 10th best scorers overall for the 2023-2024 Top 14 season.

Neither Miotti nor Urdapilleta featured for Argentina at Rugby World Cup 2023. They were also absent from Felipe Contepomi’s first training roster. Contepomi’s roster for the 2024 July Internationals is forthcoming.

The highest point scorer in the French Top 14 season was Joe Simmonds. The former Exeter Chiefs fly half scored 241 points for Pau. Despite an impressive early season, Pau missed out on a place in the play-off’s.
