Rosters named for Canada vs USA u20 Qualifier opener

Canada and the USA have named their rosters for the first match of their World Rugby Men’s u20 Trophy qualifying series. The opener will be played at Shawnigan Lake School on Vancouver Island at 3pm local, 6pm Eastern. A live stream will be available on the Rugby Canada YouTube page.

Leading the Canadian side is Olly Wiseman. The England-born loose forward, who has played for Wasps at age-grade level, is one of four returning players from last year’s squad along with hooker Jeffrey Young, flanker Grant Meadows, and reserve prop Charles Trollip.

The USA are captained by returning hooker Cade Crist, who earns the No2 shirt ahead of Houston SaberCats rookie Seth Smith. Others who featured in last year’s u20 Trophy tournament are flanker Logan Ballinger, No8 Dylan Fortune, flyhalf Rand Santos, fullback Corbin Smith, and reserve back Ollie Cline.

Game two will be played at Starlight Stadium in Langford on Thursday, June 6, at 7pm local, 10pm Eastern. The winner of the series on aggregate will travel to Scotland for the u20 Trophy tournament in early July.
