Argentina Qualify for Grand Final in Madrid

Argentina qualified for the Grand Final tournament in Madrid, Spain. Las Yaguaretés did so by finishing 5th at the Krakow 7’s tournament this weekend. Argentina had set the objective of securing a place at the Madrid tournament.

Las Yaguaretés fell 22-5 against Kenya in the Quarter Finals but recovered to defeat Czechia 15-12 to claim 5th position in the tournament. It involved a comeback; Kristyna Plevová scored early for the Europeans before the South American hit-back through Maria Brigido, Talia Rodich and Gimena Mattus which proved enough to see them to victory.

Paraguay and Mexico also competed at the tournament in Krakow, Poland. Uganda won the 7th Place final with a 35-5 victory over the Paraguayans. Mexico fell 10-7 to Hong Kong and finished the tournament in 12th spot.

China were the champions. China overcome Poland 36-0 in the final to secure a third consecutive tournament victory. Belgium claimed Bronze after defeating Kenya.
