Santiago Chocobares is Back with a Bang for Toulouse

After a lengthily injury lay-off, Santiago Chocobares made his return for Toulouse on Saturday. The Puma played inside center for Toulouse against Pau in the French south-western Top 14 clash. Toulouse won the derby-thriller 31-29.

Chocobares scored the first Toulouse try. His 12th minute score was the first of five Toulouse tries. Pay ran in four. Juan Cruz Mallía also started the match for Toulouse. He played fullback. Facundo Gigena played loose head prop for Pau.

Chocobares had a different look as he was wearing headgear. The match fell one day before his 25th birthday. The Puma from Rufino, Argentina celebrates his birthday this year on Easter Sunday.

The 866th Puma has 13 test caps for Argentina. He was the starting inside center at Rugby World Cup 2023. Veteran Jeronimo de la Fuente was his understudy. The two players are expected to be highly busy for Argentina in 2024. Their management will be a feature in the July Internationals with questions to be answered as to who is rested and when.
