Impressive Yacare Humiliate Cobras in Asunción

In a match that Brazilians will not want to remember, an impressive Yacare humiliated Os Cobras in Asunción. The Brazilian ESPN commentators held nothing back as the performance from Os Cobras was poor. The defeat was a record margin against Paraguayan opposition.

Yacare’s win was truly impressive. It was dominant with solid execution and Os Cobras being genuinely bullied.  Not only were Yacare able to pulverize their opponents but Os Cobras were diabolical offensively. Unforced errors occurred throughout and the lineout was a shambles. While rain factored in, it was not an issue for Yacare.

Ricardo Le Fort has Yacare buzzing. The Paraguayan side fell to competitive losses against Los Pampas and Los Dogos. In between them was a solid bonus point win against Selknam. The rugby played in all matches was solid and it was even better against Os Cobras on Saturday evening.

Yacare scored all first-half points. Center Ramiro Amarilla ran in two tries while scrum-half Juan Cruz Estrada and N8 Ariel Núñez also touched down in the try zone. Combined it meant Yacare had a bonus point in the bag and a win all but certain before the match had reached the midway stage.

A Knock-on cost Os Cobras a potential try early in the second-half. Yacare continued going about their work with Joaquín Lamas, Daniel González and Sebastián Urbieta all scoring tries.

As the match entered the final ten minutes a nil scoresheet was looking like a reality for Os Cobras. The lackluster showing did eventually show a positive when replacement hooker Henrique Ferreira scored. Hometown boy Juan José Heiseke responded to take Yacare past 50 points.

Yacare travel to Montevideo to face Peñarol new weekend. Os Cobras remain on the road; the Brazilians now fly north to Denver, Colorado to take on the American Raptors. It will be the first home match of the season for the Raptors.
