An Eagle and a Puma score tries in the Top 14

The latest round of the Top 14 featured tries to an Eagle and a Puma. USA prop David Ainu’u scored for Toulouse while Argentine second-rower Guido Petti scored for Bordeaux.

David Ainu’u, who first played rugby in Yelm, Washington for Prairie RFC featured for Toulouse against Oyonnax. He was a replacement but came on early; indeed, his try was scored in the first-half. Toulouse blitzed Oyonnax. The 61-24 victory was emphatic. Argentine fullback Juan Cruz Mallía played fly half for Toulouse. He converted three tries. Former Pumas center Lucas Mensa featured for Oyonnax.

Guido Petti scored Bordeaux’s only try of the match. The team had a large home crowd but were unable to give them reason to celebrate. Bordeaux fell to a 20-10 defeat against Pau. The loss of players to Six Nations duty meant a number of regulars were not involved. Petti’s try came late on in the match. The Puma scored from an advancing rolling-maul.
