Dallas have added some Canadian punch to their backline with the additions of Mitch Richardson and Nic Benn. Both played for the Arrows in 2023 and were selected by the Jackals in the Dispersal Draft. At the same time the club has announced the returns of Joaquín Horcada and Cameron Nelson.
Richardson enjoyed his best season to date in 2023 with a dozen starts for the Arrows. His fine form was rewarded with a test debut against Tonga, followed by three more caps before the year ended. Comfortable at either center position, he can also fill in on the wing if needed.
Benn prefers outside center but is likely to find himself on the wing for Dallas. It was in the No11 shirt where he made his Arrows debut against ATL. His season would end there after suffering a shoulder injury during the match that required surgical repair. The 22-year-old played for the Australia under-18 sevens side but is Canadian-eligible through his mother.
Horcada is a loosehead prop from Argentina who signed ahead of the 2023 campaign but did not end up making a regular season appearance. Openside flanker Nelson made 7 appearances during the regular season, signing on after returning stateside from a two-year stint in Germany.
