Nicolás Herreros is now playing his rugby in Portugal. The Chilean scrum-half has joined Agronomia to play in the top Portuguese division. The move comes shortly before the conclusion of Rugby World Cup 2023. The tournament featured both Portugal and Chile.
Herreros earned the most recent of his six test caps last month. It was for Chile against Argentina in the Rugby World Cup. Herreros made his test debut for Los Cóndores against Brazil in 2021. He did so in a Rugby World Cup Qualifier.
Portugal will see Herreros adding another country to his rugby portfolio. He previously played in Spain for Aparejadores de Burgos in the Division de Honor. Before that he played in Australia where he captained Queensland in the Australian Sevens. He also played professional rugby in Chile for Selknam in Super Rugby Americas.
Herreros is from the Chilean coastal city of Viña del Mar. He is a rugby product of Sporting. His natural position is scrum-half.
