Canada names Men’s longlist for Spain tour

Newly-extended Canadian Head Coach Kingsley Jones has named a longlist of 43 players to prepare for the upcoming test series in Spain. A final squad of 32 will be selected to play against their hosts on November 11, before facing either Brazil or the USA a week later.

There are 12 uncapped players named in the group. Among them are Dallas Jackals hooker Dewald Kotze, Wales-based flanker Zephyr Melnyk, and u20 standout Jamin Hodgkins. Five members of the national sevens side are named including the Thiel twins, Jake and Josh.

Notable senior additions are Old Glory lock Kyle Baillie and New York outside back Andrew Coe. Arrows prop Tyler Rowland also returns after recovering from injury that forced him out of the Pacific tour.

Pontypridd flanker Sion Parry, Toronto loose forward Travis Larsen, and New England back Spencer Jones are absent after appearing against Tonga. Also missing are DC flyhalf Gradyn Bowd and the entirety of Canada’s European professional contingent, among them uncapped Montpellier lock Tyler Duguid and former captain Tyler Ardron.
