USA Rugby have named their Eagles rosters for next month’s Pan Am Games in Santiago, but the two sides will take very different approaches at the tournament. The Women will send their strongest possible side in search of Gold while the Men have opted to roll out a development squad.
Naya Tapper and Lauren Doyle will co-captain the Women’s Eagles squad that notably includes Ilona Maher who has recovered from a broken ankle suffered in March. Cheta Emba and Kristi Kirshe were among others who were part of the Silver-winning squad from four years ago.
Phil Greening will act as Head Coach for the young Men’s roster that is captained by Faitala Talapusi. Major League Rugby draft picks Orrin Bizer and Noah Brown are selected, as is former test midfielder Lorenzo Thomas who returns to international rugby after a four-year hiatus due to suspension.
