Juan Imhoff Out of Decisive World Cup Match Against Japan

Juan Imhoff will not be available for Argentina on Sunday. Los Pumas face Japan in a winner-takes-all pool match in Nantes. A place in the Rugby World Cup Quarter Finals is on the line. The loser will be eliminated from the tournament.

Imhoff will not be involved against Japan. The veteran winger started against Chile on Saturday. He was replaced by Juan Cruz Mallía in the 62nd minute. Imhoff left after a knock to the head. The contact has now officially ruled him out of facing Japan.

Argentina had a rotated line-up starting against Chile. Imhoff and Rodrigo Isgró were the starting wingers. This was a double change to the formation against both England and Samoa wherein Mateo Carreras and Emiliano Boffelli were the wingers.

Argentina’s team to face Japan will be confirmed on Friday. Isgró, Carreras and Boffelli are all inconsideration as is Martín Bogado who started at fullback against Chile. Isgró and Bogado were both try scorers against Los Cóndores while Boffelli scored in the win over Samoa.
