Chile Loud on World Cup debut

Chile’s debut appearance at a Rugby World Cup has come and gone. Los Cóndores debuted against Japan on Sunday. The match marked the official start of international competition between the South American and Asian teams.

Before the match got underway the teams sung the national anthems. The Canción Nacional de Chile was performed by the children’s choir in Toulouse. Martín Sigren and his teammates pationately belted out Puro, Chile, es tu cielo azulado.

 

Chile’s performance on debut demonstrated a willingness to compete. Los Cóndores scored two tries, including the first of the match. The rugby played by both teams was entertaining for those in attendance and viewers from around the world.
