Women’s Eagles to play Wales ahead of WXV

A three-week trip to Ireland and the UK is in store for the USA as they prepare for the inaugural year-end WXV tournament. The Women’s Eagles will spend a week in Dublin before heading to Wales, with a full test scheduled for September 30th at Colwyn Bay. Another week of training will follow in the UK before departure to South Africa.

Stellenbosch and Cape Town will play host to the USA’s three WXV fixtures. The Eagles will compete in the second division with tests against Samoa, Scotland, and Italy on successive weekends beginning on October 14th.

Meanwhile USA Rugby has yet to announce a full-time replacement for Rob Cain, who stepped down as Head Coach following last year’s World Cup. Rich Ashfield has been assuming the position in an interim capacity but has agreed to become Director of Rugby for Stanford University and will not be with the USA side beyond the upcoming tour.
