Men’s Eagles training squad named for Toulouse match

Scott Lawrence has named a 33-strong Men’s Eagles squad to prepare for the upcoming friendly against Toulouse. The French Top 14 giants will arrive in Utah for a one-off fixture on Saturday, September 30th at America First Field. It’s the only fixture for the Eagles in US-soil this year.

With the match falling outside the test window there are no overseas-based players in the squad, with all but three players coming from Major League Rugby. Erich Storti has received a call-up to the senior side to join fellow Saint Mary’s Gaels midfielder Dominic Besag, with Line Latu of the American Raptors the other exception. Greg Peterson and Vili Helu are listed as unattached but will be joining MLR sides ahead of the 2024 season.

Storti is one of nine additions to the squad who did not tour to Europe. The others are Nate Sylvia, Siaosi Mahoni, Keni Nasoqeqe, Devin Short, Michael Baska, Bryce Campbell, Logan Tago, and Joe Mano. Nasoqeqe, Short, Tago, and Mano are uncapped, as are Latu and Bailey Wilson.

Six players have dropped out. Paddy Ryan and Tommaso Boni are unavailable with club duty while injury has scratched out Ruben de Haas and Mika Kruse. Joe Taufete’e and Chris Mattina are the other tourists not present in the domestic squad.
