Tomás Albornoz joins roster as 34th Puma in the run-in to the World Cup

Argentina’s roster will temporarily increase by one. Tomás Albornoz will travel to Europe with Los Pumas. Argentina will have a training camp in Portugal ahead of their final warm-up match against Spain in Madrid.

Albornoz will be on the airplane together with the 33-man roster for the World Cup. He trained with the team during the Rugby Championship and was a replacement for Los Pumas in Johannesburg and again against South Africa in the warm-up match in Buenos Aires.

The fly half from Tucumán was cut from the final roster. Santiago Carreras and Nicolás Sánchez are Argentina’s two fly halves on the 33-man roster. Albornoz is the stand-by option should an injury occur. After the camp in Portugal he will travel to Italy to prepare for the United Rugby Championship (URC) at his club Benetton.
