Domingo Miotti departs Glasgow Warriors for Top 14

Domingo Miotti has a new club. The Argentine fly half has departed the Glasgow Warriors for the Top 14. Miotti has signed for Oyonnax. The move comes after Miotti had previously signed an extension to remain in Scotland.

Miotti is the second Argentine recruit to Oyonnax for next season. Lucas Mensa joins from Mont de Marsan. Others may follow as Oyonnax are recruiting to improve their roster. The club won promotion from the Pro D2 last season. Miotti and Mensa are both capped by Argentina. Miotti has 5 caps and Mensa has 3.

Miotti is a native of Tucumán in northern Argentina. He is a product of Argentina’s high performance system. His pathway to Los Pumas included playing for Argentina u20’s Los Pumas 7’s, and the Argentina XV.

He debuted for Argentina in 2020. He did so after having played Super Rugby for Los Jaguares in 2019-2020. His professional career then continued in Australia; Miotti joined the Western Force. From there he signed for the Glasgow Warriors where he played from 2021-2023.

In the second of his two seasons in Scotland Miotti played in the European Challenge Cup Final. The Glasgow Warriors were beaten by Toulon. Miotti played alongside fellow former Jaguar Sebastián Cancelliere and against another in Facundo Isa.
