Canada and USA set for u23 clash in Boston

Canada’s u23 Women’s side arrives in Boston to take on their USA counterparts in the first of a two-match series dubbed the ‘Border Battle’ on Wednesday evening. Both will be played at Veterans Memorial Stadium, the home of the Major League Rugby champion New England Free Jacks.

The American side is led by former Eagles representative and highly successful Dartmouth coach Katie Dowty. Mae Sagapolu captains, one of six senior internationals included in the squad. The others are Mona Tupou, Freda Tafuna, Taina Tukuafu, Kristin Bitter, and Eti Haungatau.

Coaching the Canadian side is Kévin Rouet, the Head Coach of the Senior Women’s side who recently finished second in the Pacific Four. Mya Brubacher and Claire Gallagher are included at tighthead prop and flyhalf respectively having each recently made their full test debuts in Ottawa.

Kickoff is set for 7pm Eastern, 4pm Pacific. A live stream is available on The Rugby Network. The second match will be played at the same venue on Sunday.
