Cóndores to play World Cup Warm-Ups in North, Central and Southern Chile

Los Cóndores will play four warm-up matches before Rugby World Cup 2023. The World Cup will be Chile’s first. The South American team will prepare with home matches in the North, South and in central Chile. All three matches will be played outside of the capital.

Before playing a home match, Los Cóndores will play away to Uruguay. The battle of the Birds will be played at the home of Uruguayan rugby, the Estadio Charrúa in Montevideo on July 29. Los Cóndores will then return home for their three remaining Rugby World Cup warm-up matches.

Chile play host to the Argentina XV on August 05 and August 26. The first of these matches will take place at the Estadio Calvo y Bascuñán in Antofagasta in Northern Chile. The August 26 fixture will be played in the Southern Chilean city of Temuco. It will take place at the Estadio Germán Becker.

In between playing host to the Argentina XV, Chile will play against Namibia. The match will be the first ever between the countries. The match was originally planned to be played in Temuco; instead, it will be played overlooking the Pacific Ocean at the Estadio Elías Figueroa in Valparaíso.

Kick-off times for Chile’s home matches have also been finalized. Chile vs the Argentina XV will kick-off at 7pm local time at the Estadio Calvo y Bascuñán, Antofagasta on August 05. Chile’s two other home matches will kick-off at 5pm.

Namibia’s Rugby World Cup warm-ups are to be a South American tour. The Weltschias will compete in Uruguay’s group at the World Cup. Pool A consists of France, Italy, Namibia, New Zealand and Uruguay. Chile will compete in Pool D. The group contains Argentina, Chile, England, Japan, and Samoa.
