The end of the World Rugby Sevens Series season sees the naming of the Dream Team. Argentina is the most represented team. Three Argentines were named in the Sevens Dream Team on the 2023 World Sevens Circuit.
The trio are Marcos Moneta, Rodrigo Isgró, and Luciano González Rizzoni. All three had outstanding seasons. Questions have been asked in Argentina whether they ought to now go on to play for Los Pumas. This question has been raised together with question: What about waiting until after the Paris Olympics?
Los Pumas 7’s were second in the season behind champions New Zealand. This is a best ever outcome for Argentina. The team coached by legend Santiago Gómez Cora finished with 179 points. Argentina won Gold at the 2023 Hamilton Sevens, 2023 Vancouver Sevens and the 2023 London Sevens.
In addition to being named in the Dream Team, Rodrigo Isgró also won the Try of the Season award. His try against Samoa at the 2023 Los Angeles Sevens was officially the best try of the season.
