Argentina squad full of SRA talent for u20 Championship

Argentina will rely heavily on Super Rugby Americas talent when the World Rugby u20 Championship returns in Cape Town, South Africa, this June. The 30-man squad contains 23 players attached to either Dogos or Pampas, with most having made appearances in the professional competition.

In fact five players have been recognized with selection the competition’s weekly form XVs. Second row or flanker Efraín Elías has impressed with both his towering height and athleticism. Agustín Moyano is already ranked among the top scrumhalves, with outside backs Mateo Soler, Ernesto Giudice, and Benjamín Elizalde each earning multiple selections. Soler was chosen as the best right wing of the first half of the season by former Pumas coach Daniel Hourcade.

The team is coached by former Pumas flanker Álvaro Galindo with assistance from Carlos Mohapp and Galo Álvarez Quiñones, the latter a former professional front rower. Argentina will open their pool stage against Italy on June 24, followed by Georgia on June 29 and finally hosts South Africa on July 4.
