Argentina qualify for Paris Olympics

Argentina have booked their ticket for Paris 2024. Los Pumas finished at the top of Pool B at the Toulouse Sevens, which gives them an insurmountable position in the top four of the overall World Series standings and secures automatic qualification for the Olympic Games.

New Zealand have already qualified and could formally clinch the overall title in Toulouse pending the results of the knockout stage. Fiji are expected to be the third team to qualify. With 4th-place France already entered as hosts, the fourth World Series slot will come down to the wire with Australia, Samoa, and South Africa all possibilities.

This will be the third Olympic Games for Argentina. They were defeated by Great Britain in extra time during the Quarter Finals of Rio 2016. At the 2021 edition in Tokyo they lost to eventual champions Fiji in the Semi Final, and then defeated Great Britain to claim the Bronze Medal.
